On the weekend of November 7th and 8th Dr. Peter Marinos and Alex Mariakakis were the chosen honorees from the Parish Family of Saint Barbara in Durham, North Carolina, to the Metropolis of Atlanta's "Archangel Michael Honors" - an annual event in which an Adult and Young adult honoree are awarded a beautiful medal of the Archange Michael, patron Saint of the Metropolis of Atlanta.

Our worthy honorees were nominated by the parish at large for the service to the Parish. Dr. Marinos the Parish chanter, Vice-president of the Parish Council and chairmen of the Building Committe has offered his services and guidance above and beyond "the call of duty".

Alex, recently graduated from East Chapel Hill High school with high honors and attends Duke University and is pursuing a career in engineering. Not only an honors student but also earned honors in martial arts and was an active member of GOYA, Altar Servers, and active in the Sunday school program has well.

Beneath a beautiful blue sky and puffy clouds the Church looks radiant and glorious. Waiting for her faithful to gather and thank God for all His blessings. What a "blessing" it is to worship in our new home.
